Priorities

The 2026 membership meeting approved and ranked the following member priorities for 2026:

  • 318: Promote technological autonomy and the use of movement-aligned, people-controlled infrastructure within movement spaces.
  • 304: Continue developing accessible documentation to ensure all members can easily understand and use our tools and resources.
  • 280: Organize movement activists to leave Big Tech.
  • 252: Foster member engagement and collaborative learning through workshops and skillshares (introducing May First services).
  • 247: Advance user interface redesign efforts to improve the usability of the May First control panel.
  • 218: Strengthen relationships and build community among May First Members via political conversations and education.

The workers identified the following priorities:

  • Enable sustainable budget growth by updating membership dues to reflect rising operational costs and ensure members are contributing at appropriate sliding scale level.
  • Relocate May First’s primary infrastructure to a more cost-effective colocation facility.
  • Continue upgrading core infrastructure, including improved website bot protection.
